Reading to the Smallest (RTTS) :

To build the educational relationship between parents and children this activity has started. Through the books of only pictures, pictures and words the parents have trained to form a story for the child. And ask them to tell the story to the child with the help of same book. There can be repetition of same story for 2-3 times for the child. This makes the parents to aware that they are equally responsible to look after the education of their child not only the school or school teacher. The parents have supported by providing books and trainings have conducted to make the stories out of it. So far 237 children & their parents have supported through this activity.
Hostel for children from migrating families :

At Jalihal the project area of 22 villages many families have migrant as a sugar cutting labour. Their children suffer a lot as they couldn’t able to continue their education. To get rid of this YPS have started hostels for these children. There are about 6 hostels running in the area to support 87 children from migrant families to stay back and continue their education. To support the girls of migrant families YPS have started foster parent activity with this. The girls from migrant family can stay back with the grand parents or with their neighbours have identified and supported financially to continue the education of that girl. About 94 girls have supported this year.
Self Help Groups (SHG) :

Yerala Projects Society has started SHG formation & linkage program with the help of NABARD in Apr 2008.
Women’s SHGs play an important role in the developmental process of the villages around Jalihal. Over the years these groups have become responsible and have understood the importance of development process. Almost all the programs which are being implemented by YPS are implemented with the involvement of SHGs.
YPS kept the target of completing 100 SHGs within three years. So far we have been instrumental in forming and capacity building of 86 SHGs. Among those SHGs 77 has linked with the banks. They are doing regular savings and also helping each other. Most of the groups have received soft loans from the banks after gradation conducted by YPS. Further they are providing credits to their members to take up income generating activities. So far we have 8 credit linkages formed.
Food Processing Unit :

To help the farmers utilizing the yield and marketing the same. The crop that has fewer prices in the market that the farmer couldn’t afford to market it is collected at the center. And then it processed to get bi- product by this plant. The workers are properly trained to do quality work. And the products are then marketed.

BalSadan :

To provide shelter for the children, of whom the parents (one or both) died that of HIV/AIDS and the children of FSWs, YPS has established “Balsadan” project at Kamalapur. This project is run with the active initiative of villagers of Kamalapur project area. The children are helped to get education and over all growth of these children were carried out, by giving hostel, health, education facility. The hostel facilities are being provided to the children from 1st to 10th std. There are about 43 such children in the center. The school education, sports, general knowledge and personality development training is given to these children. They are encouraged to take part in different competitions. In personal competition one of our students got the medals. One of our SSC passed student is studing in IIT Training College at Jath.
Multi Skill center for Gender Equality :

To address the issue of gender discrimination there is a need of inculcating the “Respect to wards opposite sex ” factor into the mind sets of children from their schooling age. We have established “Multiskill training center” . The thinking behind the project is to create respect for the work being carried out as every one can do same work with putting efforts in it. Through this project are providing skill trainings to the Secondary Education level students, which of very basic skills required in their day to day lives. As all the skills are adopted by both genders, this will help the man to respect a woman and a woman to be confident !
Balwadi in Remote Areas :
To bring all children from the project area under the educational stream this activity has started. The remote locations were identified and with the help of local people the Kinder Garden has started at 6 places. The local lady teachers have identified and the capacity building of the same had done through proper training. The study material had been distributed to all Balwadis. About 120 children have facilitated through the activity.
Nursery and Demonstration :
YPS has developed agriculture demonstration unit at Jalihal. Every year 3-4 new varieties of seeds which are suitable for the agro-climatic condition of the area are procured from the market and demonstration is carried out. During the demonstration, farmers visit the demo plot and witness the developments. All the information is shared with the farmers. The main purpose of carrying out demonstrations is to eliminate the risk of farmers. Once the results of particular seed are obtained , farmers can choose which seed suits them.
